Dear Dark Country Fans and Players,

As many of you are aware, 2022 was a challenging year for the Dark Country team, particularly in our home country of Ukraine, where we faced war and other difficulties. Despite these challenges, our passion for the game never wavered, and we were able to release the much-anticipated first version of our game in June.

The ongoing war has also prompted several adaptations in our operational structure that will increase productivity in the coming year. Team members have relocated to safer regions within the country or moved abroad, and we have also brought on additional team members located around the globe.

Moving into 2023, we are excited to make significant progress and optimistic that it will be a banner year for the Dark Country team and community.

With that said, we are pleased to present the Dark Country 2023 Roadmap:

Onboarding new players via Leagues and Seasons (Q1 2023)

Along with the introduction of a ladder system (both daily and ongoing), we are planning to further develop our reward system. To help accomplish this goal we will be introducing 3–4 Leagues with Seasons that restart every two weeks.

As part of our mobile launch, we will implement a “Beginner League”, where users will play with a free standard deck. This Beginner league will award winners with card packs at the end of each season, allowing players to expand their decks and play against more advanced players and decks.

Mobile Platform Release (Q1-Q2 2023)

In the first quarter of 2023, we plan to release the Dark Country mobile app for both Android and iOS. We have made significant progress on the mobile app in 2022 and conducted user testing of the Android build in the last months of the year. Our desktop version has also been updated slightly and we are now working on merging it with the Android version.

Along with the mobile release, we plan to connect with both Web3 gamers and traditional players. This will involve a lot of user acquisition tests and other methods to bring in users, test the app, measure results, and then repeat the process to continue improving the user experience. Our goal is to make Dark Country accessible to as many players as possible, regardless of their gaming preferences.

Tokenomics Update (Q1 2023)

In the first quarter of 2023, we plan to revise our SDM token. Our goal is to unify SDM, removing the divisions across chains and revising the token structure to streamline the addition of new blockchains. These changes will simplify the token structure, making it easier to understand and more accessible for players.

In addition, with the release of the mobile app, we are considering the introduction of a new soft currency, “GOLD”, as a mechanism to balance SDM production.

We also plan to enact a new policy that will place 10% of all SDM collected during NFT drops into a reserve. This policy is part of a larger strategy designed to improve the stability and longevity of the token.

Our ultimate aim is to create a tokenomic model that is beneficial for both players and the long-term development of the game. In the near future, we plan to release a draft further detailing proposed tokenomic changes. Keep an eye on our social channels!

New Expansion Sets (Q1-Q4, 2023)

Over the course of 2023, we plan to release four new expansion sets of 40 cards each. This will introduce 160 new cards to the game, bringing the total number to ~500 by the end of this year.

The Addition of 4 New Blockchains (Q1-Q4, 2023)

Previously, we announced our partnership with Ultra.io. We have already made significant progress on this implementation and plan to become one of the first games to fully integrate our NFTs into their platform. We have completed work for the on-chain market for card packs as well as the card unpacker, and are now focused on staking and backend implementation.

In addition to our work with Ultra.io, we have also made significant progress on our implementation of another gaming-specific blockchain. While we can’t announce all the details at this time, we anticipate being able to share more information in a month or two.

Thirdly, we are also beginning the process of adding support for EVM-based chains. This is a key part of our expansion strategy, further discussed in the next section.

Expansion to New Platforms (Q1-Q4, 2023)

We are in conversations with a number of platforms, including Elixir Games, GameFi.org, Fractal, Game Space, and WomPlay. Integrating with as many of these platforms as possible is an important step in exposing Dark Country to the maximum number of Web3 gamers.

Many of these platforms focus their support on EVM-compatible blockchains and wallets, making EVM chain integration an essential step toward maximizing Dark Country’s market presence. As we expand to additional blockchains over the course of the year, we will be onboarding to many of the platforms listed above.

Audience Growth (Q1-Q4, 2023)

Many of the initiatives outlined above are aimed at expanding our community. We are constantly seeking new opportunities to grow our card game and player base, and are committed to consistently improving the user experience and addressing any bugs or issues that may arise.

Additionally, we plan to hold regular tournaments and other social events to engage and retain our audience, as well as to attract new players. These events are an integral part of our overall strategy to build and maintain a strong, active community around our game.

Conclusion

We will do our best to adhere to the dates and plans outlined in our roadmap and will keep you updated on our progress. Additionally, we are open to adapting to new opportunities and developments as they arise, and will continue to strive for excellence and success.

Thank you for your support and we look forward to an exciting 2023.
